 “You’re In the army now!” reflects on how a life serving our nation looks like a life serving God.

 

Denise Ashurst, author of “PrideinPurity” and “Ribblets” has written an inspirational book that reflects on her twenty years in the military, and how becoming a Christian gave her a new perspective on the values she learned when she served in the Air Force. “You’re in the Army Now!” is a collection of short stories and fond memories from basic training to active duty. And along the way, Denise gives her readers a chance to see how discipline, loyalty, respect and obedience can bring you honor not only in the military, but also in God’s kingdom.  She has provided space for you to write your own thoughts, and “Brownie Points” in case you want to “go the extra mile.” Denise also provides biblical accounts that round out her comparison of how her faith gave her a new understanding of her time spent serving her country. 

Denise Elizabeth Ashurst served twenty years in the United States Air Force where she retired as a Technical Sergeant.  She went on to serve at the United States Department of Energy (DoE) at the National Nuclear Security Administration, Nevada Site Facility (NNSA/NSF) as the Nevada Test Site Operations Coordinator.  She retired from DoE and now resides in Boulder City Nevada, and is the founder and president of PrideinPurity International Ministries, mentoring women of all ages.  Her third book, “You’re in the Army Now!” is scheduled for release December 2013.  Her work and blog can be found at www.prideinpurity.com.  Denise has a  son and daughter who both live and work in Las Vegas.
